Assalamualiakum wa rahmatullah hi wa barakatuhu
I hope all of you are in good health and good mind and aren't geeked up as usual. I was just thinking that most of us miss the Fajr prayer because of the simple fact that we cant get up early. So i am going to discuss a few ways to easily get that sleep over your head.
- Before Sleeping, Make up your mind:
Its all a game of mind
People say, So Make up your mind before sleeping that no matter how sleepy you are, you WILL get up. Determination will make your mind all set for getting up early. Practicing for 2-3 days, it will get easier.
Recite the dua before sleeping and pray to Allah
*Allahumma bis mika amutu wa ah ya*
Make a note on a big chart-paper saying a good Verse or just the words *GET UP*. This will help your mind to follow it. Mind is like a computer , whatever you save in it will be saved. It will work as it is programmed to do.
Make sure that the logo you create is colourful, mind is attracted towards it. Hang the logo next to where you sleep, so when you open your eyes, it will be right in-front of you.
I I have mentioned it in one of my early posts, but i will just write it again. So all you need to do is to put your alarm clock in the bathroom before you sleep, leaving the door open. When it is time, it will just start ringing and you will have to get up to turn it off. And you will find yourself standing in the Washroom. This is one of my most favorite methods.
- Ask an elder or a friend to help you:
I usually ask my parents to wake me up, but you can ask any elder in your house to wake you up. Tell them to keep waking you up until you are on your feet.
Don't set up smooth musical tones as your alarm. The Music just gets you more sleepy, and it is more difficult to wake up. For this purpose, get a clock that has an Alarm as Azaan, or Quranic nasheed. Azaan as a alarm is the best if you are waking up for Fajr. The clocks with such Alarms are easily available in the market. Its even easier to download Azaan as mp3 from Internet and use it as an Alarm.
- The Alarm device should be out of reach:
So when it is out of your easy reach, you would have to get up and turn it off. Never Sleep with your alarm clock on your side table. Keep it in the room but somewhere you cannot easily reach it.
As soon as you open your eyes and know its time for Fajr, Just JUMP out of bed Immediately. Don't wait for the Satan to drive you slowly back into sleep. If you wait for 2-3 min, the result would be that you would again be sleeping. So The last But MOST important thing is to JUMP out of BED.
